Strategy Implementation

All too often organisations consider that time spent developing a clear strategy would be better spent on some other “harder” or more visible activity.

In reality organisations with clear goals and focus, that are communicated widely, outperform their competitors by a considerable margin, in terms of returns to stakeholders.

Far from resulting in rigid thinking and inflexibility having a well crafted overarching strategy can provide great clarity for organisational thinking and become a strong driver of operational activities, sales and marketing.  It can also act as a driver of behaviour and positively influence decision making and the development of leadership.

Constructed properly it will become an invaluable tool, providing organisational clarity and direction for all levels of staff.

There are numerous models that can be used to create effective strategies.  CQM use the models developed by Professor Gerrard Egan, one of the most effective strategists in the USA who chaired the department of organisational effectiveness at Loyola University in Chicago.  A simple strategy overview model is shown here.
